Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Thomas the Apostle,
On Sunday, July 3rd we celebrate the feast day of the patron of our parish, St. Thomas the Apostle. As a way to prepare our parish for this great feast I kindly ask that together, as a parish, we pray a novena to St. Thomas the Apostle. A novena is nine days of prayer leading up to a great celebration in the life of the Church. The novena will begin on Friday, June 24, 2022 and will conclude on July 2, the day before the feast of St. Thomas. This is an opportunity to unite our collective and individual prayers and to seek God’s help through our patron. This prayer can be said at home, with family, and we will say it during our daily masses leading up to the feast day of St. Thomas. On the weekend of July 3rd, the prayers at all of the Masses will be dedicated to St. Thomas the Apostle. May St. Thomas continue to intercede for our parish and all who call this place home.

NOVENA PRAYER TO ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE
To be prayed daily from June 24 – July 3
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord Jesus, Saint Thomas doubted Your resurrection until he touched Your wounds. After Pentecost, You called him to become a missionary in India but he doubted again and said no. He changed his mind only after being taken into slavery by a merchant who happened to be going to India. Once he was cured of his doubt, You freed him and he began the work You had called him to do. As the Patron Saint against Doubt, I ask him to pray for me when I question the direction in which You are leading me. Forgive me for mistrusting You, Lord, and help me to grow from the experience.
Saint Thomas, pray for me.
Almighty and ever-living God, who did strengthen your apostle Thomas with sure and certain faith in your Son’s resurrection: grant us so perfectly and without doubt to believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord and our God, that our faith may never be found wanting in your sight, through him who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
