Dear parishioners and friends of Saint Thomas the Apostle,
Welcome to the website for Saint Thomas the Apostle parish. I am delighted that we are able to meet through our parish’s face on the web.
If this is your first encounter with our parish, I want to greet you most warmly. Saint Thomas the Apostle Church is the parish for Hyde Park and Woodlawn on the South Side Chicago, and is a remarkable community in extraordinary variety. We are proud to be located in the middle of the campus of the University of Chicago, and we celebrate our many links with our local neighbors and the University community.
If you have only met us here on the parish’s new website, I would like to invite you to visit our church, and attend service so that we can also welcome you to our community in person. In the spirit of John 20, I echo the words of the Savior, who invited Saint Thomas the Apostle and greeted him with words of peace. Christ invited Thomas to come forward, touch his wounds and embrace him personally. We invite you to come, visit us, and encounter our Lord, who is risen from the dead.
If you are a parishioner, I am glad you have found our website. I hope you find it useful, with the information you have been asking for. You can also see our parish calendar and read our bulletins archived here. Return often because we will be regularly revising the site and adding new content. I want to thank those who are working to perfect our site. We welcome suggestions for improvement, if you can think of something we have forgotten, please have a word with the web master in the parish office.
May Christ himself bless you and your family with everything good! May the Mother of God enfold you in the mantle of her protection!
